Al-Qamar 3 of 3
To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). 41 Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. 42 What, are your unbelievers better than those? Or have you an immunity in the Scrolls? 43 Or do they say: "We are a group united, [and therefore] bound to prevail"? 44 Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 In fact their promise is upon the Last Day – and the Last Day is very severe and very bitter! 46 The evil-doers are indeed sunk in error and folly -- 47 On the day when they are dragged upon their faces in the fire – “Taste the heat of hell.” 48 Lo! We have created every thing by measure. 49 And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 All that they do is noted in (their) Books (of Deeds): 52 everything large or small, is duly inscribed. 53 Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs. 54 in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King. 55

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
