Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 They used to say: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
