And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He willeth He causeth the wind to cease so that they keep still on the back thereof; verily therein are signs for every patient, grateful person. 33 or else He may cause them to perish because of what they have wrought; and [withal,] He pardons much. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 And whosoever forbeareth and forgiveth - that verily is of the firmness of affairs. 43
