Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
