HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
