Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
