Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
