The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And the night when it covers with darkness. 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
