And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Poets (Alshu'araa'). Sent down in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
