The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And your clothing purify 4 And pollution shun. 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
