Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
