Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
