The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. THESE ARE MESSAGES of the Qur'an - a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 1 A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: 4 Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 And indeed you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), are taught the Qur’an from the Wise, the All Knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 9 “And put down your staff”; so when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned moving away without looking back; We said, “O Moosa, do not fear; indeed the Noble Messengers do not fear in My presence.” 10 “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) 11 Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." 12 But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" 13 And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! 14
