Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "Now [as for me, I know that,] verily, these [false deities] are my enemies, [and that none is my helper] save the Sustainer of all the worlds, 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
