The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ They ask you about the spoils (of war). Say: 'The spoils belong to Allah and the Messenger. Therefore, have fear of Allah and set things right between you. Obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are believers' 1 They only are the (true) believers whose hearts feel fear when Allah is mentioned, and when His revelations are recited unto them they increase their faith, and who trust in their Lord; 2 The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 3 those in truth are the believers; they have degrees with their Lord, and forgiveness, and generous provision. 4 Even as your Lord caused you to go forth from your house with the truth, though a party of the believers were surely averse; 5 and they disputed with you concerning the truth after it had become manifest, as though they were being driven to their death with open eyes. 6 And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His words, and cut the root of the disbelievers; 7 In order that He may prove the truth and disprove falsehood, even if the criminals get annoyed. 8 When you (believers) begged for assistance from your Lord, He said, "I am helping you with a thousand angels, all in rows marching one after the other". 9 Allah only made it to be glad tidings and so that your hearts may be satisfied; victory comes only from Allah; He is Almighty, Wise. 10
