Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
