Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 separating one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
