The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a fitting requital, 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
