He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to him thou attendest 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And he fears, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
