So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
