The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
