The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
