The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to those who give short measure, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
