The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
