Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
