The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and the day in splendour 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
