The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
