Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
