He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him you give attention. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 and fearfully, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
