The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 you pay attention 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
