In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
