Elucidated (Fussilat)
54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
