۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Are we then not to die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
