۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 Are we not then to die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
