But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 to Pharaoh and his courtiers, but they behaved insolently, for they were an arrogant people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated ground, sequestered, watered by a spring. 50
