The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
