Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 The bestowal from on high of this divine writ issues, beyond any doubt, from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 It was God who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in between in six Days, and then He established Himself on the throne. You have no patron nor any intercessor besides Him. So will you not pay heed? 4 He arranges (every) affair from the heavens to the earth, then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present world's time). 5 Such is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Mighty, the Merciful. 6 who has created all things well. And He originated the creation of man out of clay, 7 Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male and female sexual discharge). 8 Then He moulded him; He breathed His Spirit into him; He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts. How seldom you are grateful! 9 They say, 'What, when we have gone astray in the earth, shall we indeed be in a new creation?' Nay, but they disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord. 10 ۞ Proclaim, “The angel of death, who is appointed over you, causes you to die and then towards your Lord you will return.” 11
