Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
