Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 What though they would say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
