The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 has created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
