Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
