The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
