The man who believed said further: "O my people! Follow me: I will lead you to the Path of Right. 38 O people, the life of this world is ephemeral; but enduring is the abode of the Hereafter. 39 Whoever does an evil, he shall not be recompensed (with aught) but the like of it, and whoever does good, whether male or female, and he is a believer, these shall enter the garden, in which they shall be given sustenance without measure. 40 ۞ "And O my people! How (strange) it is for me to call you to Salvation while ye call me to the Fire! 41 you call me to deny Allah and to associate with Him as His partners those regarding whom I have no knowledge (that they are Allah's partners in His Divinity), whereas I call you to the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving? 42 “So it is self evident that what you call me towards has no benefit being prayed to, either in this world or in the Hereafter, and that our return is towards Allah, and that the transgressors only are the people of the fire.” 43 And ye will remember what I say unto you. I confide my cause unto Allah. Lo! Allah is Seer of (His) slaves. 44 God protected him against their evil plans and the people of the Pharaoh were struck by the most horrible torment. 45 Fire, to which they are exposed morning and evening. The day the Hour is proclaimed (it will be said:) "Admit the people of Pharaoh to the severest punishment," 46 AND LO! They [who in life were wont to deny the truth] will contend with one another in the fire [of the hereafter]; and then the weak will say unto those who had gloried in their arrogance, "Behold, we were but your followers: can you, then, relieve us of some [of our] share of this fire?" 47 Those who had been arrogant will say: "We are all in this (Fire)! Truly, Allah has judged between (his) Servants!" 48 And those who are in the Fire will say to the keepers of Gehenna, 'Call on your Lord, to lighten for us one day of the chastisement!' 49 but they will say, "Did not your messengers come to you with clear signs?" They will say, "Yes." The keepers will say, "Then pray [for help] yourselves." But the prayer of those who deny the truth is of no avail. 50
