As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 They will be told on the Day of Judgment, "Regret will never be of any benefit to you. You have done injustice to your souls and you will share the torment". 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask them – did any of the Noble Messengers We sent before you, appoint any other Gods except the Most Gracious, whom they used to worship? 45
