Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
