The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
