(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
