The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
