The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
