The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and serried acacias, 29 And extended shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 for those on the Right, 38

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
