The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
